Does GameStop Power Packs pay what the card is worth?
Our usual buy-back test takes cards an app valued in-app, then looks up what each exact card actually sells for. No pulled cards or comps were supplied this cycle, so this section measures 0 cards against sold prices.
GameStop’s own words set the terms. GameStop’s Power Packs FAQ says Card Ladder values every card, and those Card Ladder values set each Instant Buyback offer. GameStop describes Card Ladder as a database of 100M+ sales.
The FAQ publishes no buy-back percentage. GameStop’s December 1, 2025 statement fills that gap with one transaction.

GameStop Power Packs paid 90.0% of its own stated value on December 1, 2025. That payout sat $3,388.30 below GameStop’s $33,883 valuation. CLLCT reported the Gengar came from a digital Lunar Power Pack.
Two caveats we would rather state than bury. First, 1 card is not a sample, and this card was GameStop’s largest announced trade-in. Second, our September 2026 research recorded a 6% selling fee on buy-backs. GameStop’s December statement shows no fee line. If the fee applies on top, the net is 84.6% of stated value.
The 90% is measured against GameStop’s own valuation, not against independent sold comps. The headline cannot tell you whether Card Ladder’s figure matches a real sale. That needs comps matched on 5 axes: set, number, language, grader and grade.
Our September 2026 research recorded a 7-day window to accept the offer. We could not re-confirm that window on a GameStop page this cycle. Accepted offers go to a Power Packs Stripe wallet. The Sale Agreement credits proceeds within 3 business days after settlement.
What GameStop Power Packs covers
GameStop lists 5 categories on its Power Packs page: Pokémon, baseball, basketball, football and Special Drop. Four of them were launch categories on April 15, 2026, per GameStop’s launch release.

Our verdict on GameStop Power Packs
GameStop Power Packs is the pick if you want every pull graded by PSA and held in PSA’s own vault. A slab is a graded card sealed in a tamper-evident case. GameStop Power Packs ranks #6 in our best card-rip apps ranking at 7.2 out of 10.
The 7.2 predates this research, and we have left it alone. A re-score against how we rate needs owner approval.
How ripping works on GameStop Power Packs
You pick a category and a tier, pay, and rip the pack online or in the iOS app. The reveal shows one PSA-graded card and its Card Ladder value. That card sits in the PSA Vault from the moment of the reveal.
Each digital pack draws one existing graded card from a pool. That makes a Power Pack a repack, not sealed factory product. Every Power Pack is also a slab pack: one graded card in a sealed holder.
You then choose one of 4 exits: keep the card vaulted, ship it, take the buy-back, or list it. Shipping goes to US addresses only, per GameStop’s FAQ. Selling through PSA’s eBay store or PSA Offers needs a second Stripe account.
The PSA Vault is a climate-controlled facility in Delaware with 24/7 security and insurance, per the App Store listing.
Pack tiers, odds, and value
GameStop Power Packs lists 6 named tiers on its own page, from Starter at $25 to Lunar at $2,500. The App Store listing adds packs up to $5,000. GameStop’s listing says higher tiers do not guarantee higher-value cards.
GameStop Power Packs raised its top pack from $2,500 at the April 15, 2026 launch to $5,000 by October 2026. The $25 Starter price did not change.
The odds show before purchase, per the App Store listing. MyCardRips has not captured them, so this review quotes no chance of breaking even yet. The $33,883 Gengar is a past pull, not the app’s stated ceiling.
Payments, buy-back, and withdrawals
GameStop Power Packs added Apple Pay in iOS version 1.3.0 on October 5, 2026. Buy-back money goes to a Power Packs Stripe wallet. That wallet holds buy-back proceeds only, and it pays out to a connected bank.
GameStop’s FAQ gives 2 to 5 days for a wallet transfer to reach your bank. We found no published withdrawal minimum on GameStop’s pages. No MyCardRips payout test exists yet for GameStop Power Packs.
Is GameStop Power Packs legit?
Yes. GameStop Power Packs sells real PSA-graded cards, stored in the PSA Vault and shippable to US addresses, and the seller of record is PowerPacks, LLC, selling in partnership with GameStop.
GameStop Power Packs requires you to be 18+ and a lawful US resident. That rule sits in section 3 of the PowerPacks Terms of Purchase, last edited September 25, 2026. The age limit is the app’s eligibility rule, not a legal ruling.
PSA grades every card. We could not confirm the ID check method or its provider on a GameStop page this cycle.
The Sale Agreement lets PowerPacks withhold tax from sale proceeds. PowerPacks can also ask for your tax identification number.
GameStop trades on the NYSE under the ticker GME, and its collectibles net sales grew 57% to $356.3 million in the quarter ended August 1, 2026. GameStop describes Power Packs as a collaboration between GameStop and PSA.
Who GameStop Power Packs is best for
- Collectors who want PSA throughout — every pull graded by PSA and stored in the PSA Vault.
- Pokémon and US sports collectors, across 4 launch categories plus Special Drop.
- Sellers who want a buy-back paid to a bank, at 90% of stated value in GameStop’s December 2025 payout.
- Not for collectors who need break-even math first. Rips by Triumph states a 100% FMV buy-back, no fee.
Digital and physical GameStop Power Packs are different products
GameStop sells two products under one name. Digital Power Packs are ripped online and hold one PSA-graded card each. Physical Power Packs are boxes sold online and in GameStop stores.

GameStop’s 2025 physical run had 4 series. Series 1 released April 19, Series 2 July 12, Series 3 October 18, and Series 4 November 28, 2025. Each held a PSA 8 or better Pokémon card, per GameStop’s product page.
GameStop also runs a physical One Piece Gold Series 1, with a free-entry route under its official rules. This review scores the digital product only.
GameStop Power Packs promo codes: what we found
We found no public promo code on GameStop’s Power Packs page or App Store listing on October 28, 2026. The app added a Promotions feature in version 1.1.2 on August 18, 2026. Offers run inside the app, so check that tab before you buy.
GameStop’s Terms of Purchase also describe Golden Grails, a promotional prize. Golden Grails carry a sweepstakes entry route for US residents 18+.
